Northwestern State's Greek Community is organized into three governing councils: NSU Panhellenic Council (sororities), Interfraternity Council (fraternities), and National Pan-Hellenic Council (historically African-American fraternities and sororities).
When you join one of the four sororities at Northwestern State, you become a member of the Panhellenic Association. The "Panhellenic Spirit" unites every chapter woman regardless of individual chapter affiliation. The Panhellenic Association serves as the governing body for the four NPC sororities and strives to unite chapter members, strengthen their values and common goals.
The Interfraternity Council is the governing body of the 6 fraternal organizations. The council aids the 6 chapter fraternities in the areas of recruitment, risk management, academic, service, public relations, financial and educational programming.
The National Pan-Hellenic Council is comprised of seven of the historically African-American fraternities and sororities. Under NPHC, fraternities and sororities unite to participate in community service and philanthropic activities, step shows, educational programs and social events.
