Recruitment or "Rush" is the word that is used to describe the process of recruiting new membership into the men's fraternities.  During the recruitment process you will have the opportunity to meet each of the 6 IFC fraternities on campus.  You will have a preview of NSU fraternities at Freshman Connection and during the "Score Big" events at Welcome Week 2009.

National Pan-Hellenic Council

NPHC Mixer                                                                                                                                                                                                      September 2, 2009

NPHC organizations participate in membership intake, the process of selecting, educating and initiating new members at a time deemed by that specific organization, not by NPHC.  Interested persons should note that individual organizations will hold informational meetings throughout the school year.  These meeting will be advertised throughout various locations on campus and will provide individuals with the opportunity to learn more about an organization.  Students who are interested in learning about the entire council are encouraged to attend the annual NPHC Mixer on Wednesday, September 2, 2009.  During the Mixer, each of the 7 NPHC organizations will showcase their chapters and the history behind their organization.

College Panhellenic Council

Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment                                                                                                                                                               September 4-7, 2009

The first step in becoming a member of a sorority is to explore your options!  Students are encouraged to participate in Sorority Recruitment as a way of becoming familiar with the Panhellenic community and learning first what it means to be a sorority woman at Northwestern State.  Through a series of informal events you will meet some of the most exceptional women on campus!  You will have the opportunity to see what each sorority has to offer, what makes each chapter unique and how you will benefit from membership.

Keep an open mind during Recruitment!  It's important to ask questions about what each chapter expects with regard to time commitment, financial obligation and academic expectations.
